Que es un ERP?
SAP es.
JD Edwards es.
Los paquetes que normalmente se venden como ERPs no lo son.
Basicamente, un ERP es un ideal: Sistematizar TODOS los procesos empresariales. Los ERPs como SAP/JD Edwards tienen modulos para todo lo que creas que necesita una empresa y muchas cosas mas (por ejmplo: Calcular los tamaños de empaque y rutear de forma eficiente en base a peso y medidas).
Una parte que se olvida es que la "E" de ERP es "Enterprise". Boeing es una Enterprise. Apple es una Enterprise. IBM es una Enterprise. Ford es una enterprise. El negocio de don chucho no lo es.
Es pura cuestion de tamaño, tecnificacion y alcance de mercado:

El instructor decia que en Colombia a duras penas habia una docena de empresas que le sacaban el jugo a este motor. Una gran cantidad de empresas que en latinoamerica creemos grandes son medianas para los estandares de USA:
